This week we explored the importance of community helpers! We learned about dentists and how to keep our teeth clean. We talked about doctors and how they help keep us healthy. We talked about how police officers keep us safe. We even created our very own Pre-K Post Office! Here is a look at the activities the Pre-K kiddos participated in this week!
Math - This week we used our imaginations to pretend we were dentists. We counted teeth (diced packing peanuts) to help our patients. We also put toothpaste onto toothbrushes - we counted the dots and matched it to the corresponding number. In our sensory table we had flames with a number printed on them. In order to put out the flames the kiddos dressed up as a firefighter and had to spray the flames the same number of times that was labeled on the flame!
Bingo - The kiddos learned more about community helpers through a fun game of bingo! The bingo cards were filled with pictures of community helpers that included - a waiter, a fisherman, a garbage collector, a forest ranger, etc. Throughout the game we discussed the important roll of each community helper.
Reading Buddies - We always enjoy Friday mornings with our buddies!
Monday - PJ Day
Tuesday - Fan Day
Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday
Thursday - Beach Day
Friday - Formal Friday
