This weeks theme was "catch up!" We had a lot of fun projects to do that were perfect for a short 4 day week! Since conferences are coming up next month we spent a lot of time with assessments and working on our portfolios and January self-portraits.
Annual Auction & Scholarship Dinner - April 27, 2019
This week we completed our class gift for the annual auction. A special thank you to Connor's mom! Mrs. Wood came up with the idea of doing the Chicago flag and using the kids' handprints. She assembled the flag, stained the back, painted the wood panels, and then came in and helped the kids with their handprints! Be sure to come to the auction so you can bid on this beautiful piece!
Portfolios
This week we also started decorating our portfolios. The portfolios are presented at the end of the year and will contain all of your kiddo's artwork, crafts and classwork. At the end of the year we have a class party and will present the portfolios to parents!
Self-Portraits
Wow! The kiddos are starting to focus on the details and their portraits are turning out wonderful!
Mystery Reader:
The mystery reader this week was Isla's mom! Thank you Mrs. Raychel for coming in and reading two very fun books with us. Mrs. Raychel read - The Watermelon Seed and There Was a Monkey Who Swallowed Frogs. The next open slots are 2/1 and 2/22. Please let me know if you would like to sign-up!
